Around the US and the World

First Baptist Church generously supports mission and ministry across the globe, both as an individual church and as a part of American Baptist Churches USA.

One of our greatest strengths as American Baptists is our collective mission outreach which spans the globe. To help support world-wide mission and evangelism, we promote four major offerings per year:

• the World Mission Offering goes directly to support missionaries and mission projects
• the America for Christ Offering supports mission work and neighborhood centers in the United States
• the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering supports relief efforts and projects following natural disasters across the globe
• the Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering supports retired ABC pastors and missionaries who have given their lives, often with low pay, to the share the good news of the gospel.

AMOS Health & Hope

Since 1967 our church has supported missions in Nicaragua. We began by commissioning missionaries Rev. Dr. Gustavo and Joan Parajon who were Ministers of the First Baptist Church of Managua and also began several health initiatives that have transformed the country’s health care system. Following in their footsteps, Drs. David & Laura Parajon are continuing the health missions, now called AMOS Health & Hopea Christian  Public Health organization that serves impoverished rural communities. Each year FBC sends a team to support AMOS and in the past have provided earthquake, hurricane, and flood relief, and projects to provide clean, safe drinking water in rural communities.
