Relevant and Engaging Dialogue and Question Forum For Youth
Shutdown, isolation, and uncertainty have become a new normal. No one has been immune to the impact of COVID 19. But one startling trend is the increase in mental health issues and opioid abuse in teens and young adults. The First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland Youth program has recognized this growing issue and has set up opportunities to help connect young people, families, and caregivers to mental health and addiction resources. These resources are free to the community and all are welcome to participate.
On Saturday, February 27th at 7 PM, FBC’s Youth Department will be hosting the first of these events. This will be an educational event that seeks to answer the question, “how will I know”. How will I know that I have a problem? How will I know where to get help? How will I know if a friend is struggling? Teens and young adults will have a safe environment to ask their questions and gain valuable resources from a panel of experts.
FBC’s Youth Department will also host an event for parents and other adult caregivers later this year to provide additional mental health and addiction recovery resources.
