Mike Skerritt - H.E.L.P.

Community Theater – A JOY and a CHALLENGE!

Sunday, May 19, 2019
12:30 PM – Lunch $5.00

1:00 PM – FREE Program

This program is presented by the 49’ers

Mike Skerritt will talk about many of his experiences as one of the founders and now as Managing Director of the 43-year-old theater group, the Happy Ending Lyric Players. Joining Mike with stories of their years of Joys and Challenges will be Betty Daniels, a co-founder; Carole Negus, actress; John Negus, actor, and director; Laura Preston, actress; and Kelley Pernicone, actress, producer, and director.

Using an extensive PowerPoint presentation just loaded with pictures from memorable shows, some that included some of the 49’ers themselves, Mike will start at the beginning in 1976 and will read written comments by the real driving force behind the formation of the theater group, Jim Shrader, former FBC Music Director who left in 1990 to pursue a doctorate in choral conducting. Many of the pictures will bring back fond memories of talented folks who were involved with H.E.L.P. in years past.

And for a few 49’ers who haven’t yet tried our their latent acting skills, there will be an opportunity to AUDITION for a role at the end of the presentation, reading dialogue from a script from an episode of THE BICKERSONS!

The program is free and open to all. It promises to be an early afternoon well spent!
