If the little book from the New Testament which we call James were being published today, we would probably find it in the "self-help" or the "how-to" section of the bookstore.  The letter of James shows one of the church's early pastors offering "hands-on", relevant advice for Christians who wanted help in living out their faith under the pressures of a culture whose values and lifestyle were contrary to, and in many ways hostile to, the teachings of Jesus.  This sermon series gets right to the heart of the matter: living out one's faith in the real world.
