We’re Outta Here — our service begins! This is the 10th year that First Baptist Church has left the building for a day of community service, outreach and fellowship.
Rev. Kregg Burris will lead us in a brief communion service then it’s off we go to serve!

NEIGHBORHOOD FOOD COLLECTION
This group will walk the neighborhoods near FBC collecting food items for Family Promise and for the Hunger Center at Bethany Baptist Church. The FBC Boy Scout troop will assist by distributing fliers, in advance, to the homes we will be visiting. Please bring your own water bottle, rain gear, stroller and especially wagons.

Project designed for: This is a great project for any age; infants, toddlers, children, youth and adults. There is no limit to the number of participants, the more the better!
JUDSON HYMN SING WITH RESIDENTS
This group will travel to Judson Retirement Center for a hymn sing. We will go to several sections of the nursing care facility to sing familiar hymns with the residents.

Project designed for: Anyone who enjoys singing the old familiar hymns and in so doing bring a smile to the faces of these older people. You do not need to be a great singer, the words and music will be provided, just bring along a great spirit. This project is limited to 25 participants.
RUST BELT COMMUNITY GARDEN
Come help created a useful green space in our city. As we work together at a Cleveland Community Garden, located at 1407 E. 40th, Cleveland. The team will be weeding and thinning the garden to prepare the ground for planting. Bring a water bottle, rain gear, work gloves, kneeling pads, weed wackers, & small hand shovels.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS NEIGHBOR IN NEED
Springtime brings vegetables to plant, weeds to pull, and beds to mulch—and FBC can help.

Come join with families living at nearby Family Promise in a morning of fun projects with mom and children. A cooking project, crafts, games and stories are planned..

MEN’S SHELTER AT 2100 LAKESIDE
First the group will sort the donations from the congregation then make a the delivery to the shelter. Participants will have an opportunity to visit the shelter, the largest in Ohio.

MULCHING FBC GROUNDS
Many hands will be needed to spread mulch on the many beds on our church grounds. Please bring a wheelbarrow if possible as well as work gloves and a rake.

FBC HUNGER GARDEN PLANTING
This year our garden is again being opened to neighbors in our community as well as FBC people who would like to have their own plot. Some of all produce grown goes to the Hts. Hunger Center. Come and help get things started. Gardening experience is not needed.

WHITE CROSS BANDAGES
Currently bandages are being sent to the Congo. The Fireside Room will quickly be transformed into what looks like a small factory: some ripping sheets, some running sewing machines, some rolling strips into bandages and everyone laughing, talking and having a fun. Please bring scissors suitable for cutting material.

BABY LAYETTES FOR EXPECTANT MOMS IN RURAL NICARAGUA
Our FBC summer mission team will be delivering these items this summer. Come and learn a little more about this beautiful but very poor country as we put together gifts for new moms

SORTING AND BOXING UP CLOTHING FOR WOMEN LIVING IN A SAFE HOUSE FROM HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND A HALF-WAY HOUSE FOR WOMEN IN RECOVERY
For this project will involve sorting clothing that will later be delivered to agencies sponsoring the facilities for women.

PREPARING A NO-COOK DESSERT FOR A CALVARY MEAL
An easy sit-down task of putting together a dessert for our next guests at Calvary church.

If you enjoy being in the kitchen this project is for you. Help set up the tables, fire up the grills and help cook a delicious lunch. Report for duty to Head Chef, Faith Arnold in the main kitchen by Fellowship Hall. Help will also be needed to wash dishes after the lunch.

NURSERY IS OPEN
Our nursery will be open as usual for babies and toddlers with care being provided by the regular Sunday staff. Please sign up if you plan to use this service.
DONATIONS NEEDED IN ADVANCE TO MAKE OUR DAY A SUCCESS
JOSEPH HOUSE CLOTHING BANK for recent refugees coming to Cleveland
Needed are children’s clothing and shoes in good condition. Please limit donations to summer and fall items. New underwear and socks are also needed.
RENEE JONES EMPOWERMENT CENTER for victims of human trafficking
Women’s clothing and shoes in good condition; summer dresses, skirts, slacks, blouses, jackets, light weight coats and especially back to work clothes. New under garments are also needed.
The following items are needed for families as they make a fresh start in their own apartments; soaps, cleaning supplies, foil, wax paper, lunch bags, toilet paper, sponges, new kitchen towels, hot pads as well as personal hygiene products for teen girls and women.
MEN’S SHELTER AT 2100 LAKESIDE
Books, recent magazines, devotional booklets, puzzle books and reading glasses from the dollar store. Washable Men’s clothing; jeans, t-shirts, sweat shirts, jackets, rain gear and shoes. New socks and underwear is greatly appreciated. Also gym bags and back packs as the men need to carry all their belongings with them during the day.

Old sheets of any size, any color, or any design are needed. They will be ripped and rolled into bandages
